ANNAN U14 GIRLS AT PENRITH

FRIENDLIES
4TH SEPTEMBER 2022

MATCH REPORT FROM COACH BILLY HENDERSON

After a late cancelation by Stewartry, we arranged a friendly away to Penrith

We arrived at Penrith with an excellent squad number of 15 girls.

With Penrith having 8 girls we decided to split out team in 2 – the yellows and the whites

First up – the Yellows v Penrith – Score 4-4

Coaches Notes:

Short tight pitch not suiting us.

Through hands to Ayda, goes to ground – Josie ruck over – through hands again. Josie and ruck over and Megan pulls it out the bag to secure a draw.

Second match was Whites v Penrith – Score 6-1 to Penrith

Coaches Notes:

Alysha score – better rucking by the team and good energy by Maddie and excellent tackling by Anna

Third match was Yellow v White – including 4 Penrith girls in each team  – Score 7-4 to Yellow

Coaches Notes:

Alysha on fire. Scores 4 tries.

Good kick offs by Josie

Good match by Shaenah

Coach Billy’s thoughts on the day – Probably still only playing at 60% of our potential. English laws today put us on the back foot (more than 1 in a ruck /  targeting the ball in a tackle and kick offs)

When the Whites played Penrith I allowed them to go on cold while the Penrith Girls were onto their 2nd wind. My mistake and I apologise to the girls and will have you game ready next time.

After the match Shaenah, our captain, nominated Amelia Cameron as our W.O.M and Milly for Penrith

Thanks to all parents and supporters who travelled down to support the Hornets today and thanks to Penrith.

Coach Billy.

Yellows – Josie Halliday, Megan Hutchinson, Louisa Colledge, Shaenah Quinn, Emily Harrison, Amelia Cameron, Ayda Nelson.

Whites – Alysha Greenwood, Anna Canning, Eva Cable, Lila St John-Claire, Eva-May Bell, Sarah Lockie, Libby Bowness, Maddy Grierson
